Community Guidelines

YourStateline is a digital town square for our surrounding communities. Help make it useful, welcoming, and worth returning to.

Lead with respect

Disagree with ideas without attacking people. Harassment, threats, hate speech, doxxing, and personal intimidation do not belong here.

Keep it local and useful

Share news, questions, events, recommendations, and experiences that help neighbors. Add context and sources when you can, especially for breaking or disputed information.

Post honestly

Do not impersonate others, deliberately mislead the community, or present rumors as confirmed facts. Businesses and organizations are welcome when their posts are relevant and transparent.

Protect privacy

Do not publish private contact information, personal records, or identifying details about another person without permission. Be thoughtful about what you share about yourself, too.

No spam or abuse

Repeated promotions, scams, malicious links, illegal content, and attempts to disrupt the site may be removed. Accounts may be limited or suspended when necessary to protect the community.

Moderation

Moderators may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these guidelines. We may also act on conduct that is harmful even when a situation is not described word-for-word here. If you see a problem, report it to the site team rather than escalating the argument.

Build the town square together

Welcome new voices, give helpful answers, and leave room for neighbors to participate. The goal is a community people can trust.
